Typically offering the fastest data speeds that a cellular network is capable of, an LTE network can make it possible for you to stream video on your iPhone through a cellular connection, or perform other data-intensive tasks that may not have been possible prior to the availability of these networks.
But if you do not want to connect to an LTE network, then you may find it problematic that your iPhone 5 will always choose that network when it is available. Fortunately you can adjust the cellular settings on your device and turn off LTE so that the iPhone will no longer attempt to connect to those networks. This means that your device will no longer connect to LTE networks. If you decide later that you want to connect to these networks, then simply follow these same steps to re-enable LTE.
